What the certifications cover

Intuit's QuickBooks Online certification comes in two levels. Holding Level 2 is what earns the Advanced ProAdvisor label on Intuit's directory.

  • Level 1: the core of QuickBooks Online. Setting up a company and chart of accounts, recording sales and expenses, banking and bank feeds, and standard reports.
  • Level 2: the features that tend to get misused in small-business files. Sub-customers and projects, progress invoicing, price rules, customer and vendor prepayments, billable time and expenses, corporate credit cards, bank-feed matching problems, undeposited funds cleanup, 1099s, budgets, and custom reporting with tags, classes and locations.
  • Payroll: payroll tax setup, pay schedules and wage types, deductions, benefits and time off, scheduled, unscheduled and final paychecks, depositing and filing payroll taxes, reconciling payroll, and W-2s. Intuit renamed its payroll line QuickBooks Workforce in 2026, so it shows under that name on the directory.
  • Intuit Enterprise Suite: Intuit's platform for businesses that outgrow QuickBooks Online, with multi-entity consolidation and deeper reporting. Useful if you run several entities under one owner.

2026 recertification

Intuit requires ProAdvisors to recertify every year. Daniel completed the 2026 training on September 19, 2026: Sales and customers, Expenses and vendors (Levels 1 and 2), Banking and accounting (Levels 1 and 2), and AI for accounting. That's 9.5 CPE credits from Intuit, a NASBA-registered continuing-education sponsor.

Also completed

Client Advisory Services Foundations, an Intuit ProAdvisor graduate program finished in September 2026. It covers the advisory side of the work: helping owners use their numbers to plan, not just keeping the records. Daniel is also Intuit Bookkeeping trained.

What it means for your books

Payroll is one of the places small-business books go quietly wrong. Wages land in one lump expense account, employer taxes get mixed in with them, and the payroll liability accounts carry balances nobody can explain. We set payroll up so wages, employer taxes and deductions each post where they belong, and we reconcile the liability accounts back to zero every cycle.

Day to day, most of our clients keep their books in QuickBooks Online: bank feeds and rules, monthly reconciliations, classes and locations for multi-location businesses, projects for job costing, and a clean chart of accounts your CPA can work with. If you're setting QuickBooks up for the first time, or fixing a file someone else built, that's our software setup and cleanup service.

How to check any ProAdvisor

A badge on a website is a claim. The Intuit directory is the proof. Search the person's name at Intuit's Find a ProAdvisor site and look at the "Certified expert in" section: it only shows certifications that are current. Intuit requires ProAdvisors to recertify every year, so a certification from two years ago may not still count. We wrote a full guide on what a QuickBooks ProAdvisor is and how to verify one.

QuickBooks ProAdvisor FAQ

What is a certified QuickBooks ProAdvisor?

An accountant or bookkeeper in Intuit's ProAdvisor program who has passed at least one of Intuit's certification exams. Anyone can join the program. Only those who pass an exam are certified, and the certification has to be renewed every year.

Which QuickBooks certifications does Daniel hold?

QuickBooks Online Level 1 and Level 2, which makes him an Advanced ProAdvisor, plus Intuit's QuickBooks payroll certification (listed as QuickBooks Workforce) and Intuit Enterprise Suite. Level 1 and Level 2 are current through July 1, 2027. All of it shows on his Find a ProAdvisor profile.

What is an Advanced ProAdvisor?

Intuit's directory label for a ProAdvisor who holds the QuickBooks Online Level 2 certification. Daniel has held it since his 2026 recertification.

Is a ProAdvisor the same as a CPA?

No. A ProAdvisor certification shows training and testing in QuickBooks. A CPA is a state license to practice public accounting. We handle the bookkeeping and payroll; your CPA handles the tax return.

Do you work inside my existing QuickBooks file?

Yes. We'll work in your current QuickBooks Online file, clean it up if it needs it, or set up a new one. You keep ownership of the file either way.

How much does QuickBooks bookkeeping cost?

Flat monthly pricing by transaction volume: $299, $395, $595 or $895 a month. Catch-up work is quoted once as a project. See pricing.
